Vande Bharat sleeper trains: Indian Railways is soon going to deliver another piece of good news for its passengers, particularly benefiting those in Kerala. The Railway Board is reportedly considering a proposal to allocate two Vande Bharat sleeper trains to the state. Plans include running these trains between Kochuveli and Bengaluru, and Kanyakumari and Srinagar. The Vande Bharat train to Srinagar will take the Konkan route and is expected to operate three times a week up to Badgam station near Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. Work is in progress to launch these new trains, keeping passenger convenience in mind.

The Vande Bharat sleeper coaches are currently being built at the Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) factory in Bengaluru, with work on 10 rakes anticipated to be finished by December. Officials mentioned that, similar to the Rajdhani Express trains, all Vande Bharat sleeper train coaches will be air-conditioned, providing passengers with a comfortable travel experience.
Train movement affected due to rain
Many parts of the country have been receiving continuous moderate to heavy rains for the past few days. Due to this, the movement of trains has been affected. Local train service between Kasara and Titwala stations in Thane district of Maharashtra was disrupted on Sunday morning due to heavy rains and falling trees. Officials said that due to heavy rains around 6.30 am, mud came on the tracks between Atgaon and Tanshet station. A tree fell near Washind station, blocking the tracks, blocking rail traffic on the Kalyan-Kasara route. A Central Railway spokesperson said that train services between Kasara and Titwala have been temporarily stopped.
