In the year 2023, a consortium led by public sector company Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has got the contract for 80 sleeper class Vande Bharat trains. This contract is worth more than Rs 9,600 crore. Along with this, there is also a possibility that the number of Vande Bharat trains and Amrit Bharat trains can be increased in the budget this time.
The Railway Minister had also informed that the construction process of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is going on fast and the first train will be on the track within two months. All technical work is in the final stage.
Economic corridor can also be announced
According to the report, 3 to 4 new economic corridors can also be announced. Under the Dedicated Freight Corridor, separate corridors for coal and minerals can be announced.
