The prices of the new recharge plans of both the companies will be applicable from July 3. The companies have made their plans expensive by up to 27 percent. Jio-Airtel New Plans List: Both Jio and Airtel telecom companies have increased the prices of their recharge plans. Jio has increased the prices of its recharge plans after about two and a half years. While Airtel has made its plans costlier by up to Rs 600, the prices of Jio’s plans have increased by up to 27 percent.
Both the companies have made this big increase in their plans after the launch of 5G service. Earlier also telecom companies had revised some plans, but this time the entire portfolio has been changed. Let us know how much money will have to be spent for the recharge plans of these companies.
How much did Jio increase the price?
Jio has increased the prices of its plans by up to 27 percent. On this occasion, Akash Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio Infocomm, said, ‘The launch of new plans is a step towards advancing industry innovation and driving growth through investment in 5G and AI technology.’
The company said in its press release, ‘Unlimited 5G service will be available in all plans of 2GB and above. The price of the new plans will be applicable from July 3, 2024. These can be accessed from all touchpoints and channels.’
Airtel plans also became expensive
Along with Jio, Airtel has also increased the prices of its recharge plans. The company says that to run a better telecom business in India, the company’s ARPU should be above Rs 300. ARPU i.e. Average Revenue Per User is the average income from consumers.
The company says that they have tried to keep the price hike of the plans to a minimum. The price of entry level plans has been increased by less than 70 paise per day.
