Eastern Railway said that the passenger revenue in the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25 was Rs 953.24 crore as against Rs 866.79 crore in the same period of the previous financial year.
Railway Passenger Income: Eastern Railway has earned more than Rs 953 crore from passenger revenue in the first quarter of the current financial year. A railway official gave this information on Tuesday. The official said that in the April-June quarter, Kolkata-headquartered Eastern Railway achieved a growth of 9.97 percent in revenue from passenger traffic as compared to the same period a year ago.

East Railway official said in a statement, “Passenger revenue in the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25 was Rs 953.24 crore as against Rs 866.79 crore in the same period of the previous financial year.”
2.87 lakh passengers travelled in 3 months
During the period April-June, 2024, East Railway transported a total of 2,87,654 passengers to the destination, which is 3.36 percent more than the figure of 2,78,309 passengers last year.
