Post Office: Guljarbag Post Office has witnessed a remarkable change in its appearance. Once cluttered with heaps of waste spanning decades, it now boasts verdant surroundings. Postmaster Sunil Kumar Sharma highlights that besides the visual appeal, the future promises cleaner air for the community.
The District Postal Superintendent of Patna Sahib Mandal, Ranbir Kumar, relayed to Local 18 that Chief Postmaster General Anil Kumar has delegated to every employee of the Postal Department in Bihar the responsibility of planting and caring for at least one tree in honor of World Environment Day 2024.
All 245 employees of postal offices under the Bihar Circle will partake in this endeavor. Notably, within the Patna Sahib Mandal, several types of shade-providing trees and plants have been planted at the Badh Sub-Post Office and Guljarbag Sub-Post Office.
There has been a remarkable shift in the overall scenery compared to earlier times. Sunil, the postmaster of Guljarbag, attributed this transformation to the adept guidance of postal department authorities and the unwavering dedication of garden curator Shailendra Kumar Verma. Superintendent Ranbir Kumar highlighted the long-standing issue of garbage accumulation at the Guljarbag Sub-Post Office under the Patna Sahib Mandal.
The area has transformed into a verdant landscape. This will provide some respite to visitors enduring the intense heat while coming to the post office. An appeal has been made to everyone to plant trees. As per Postal Superintendent Ranbir Kumar, the environment’s direct correlation is with the everyday lives of people.
Their continuation suggests that planting more trees will positively affect the environment. Moreover, the long-term advantage will be a shift in agricultural practices and rainfall distribution. This will enhance our societal and economic conditions. Hence, we should endeavor to increase tree plantation efforts.
It’s worth mentioning that the renovation work for other post offices in Patna, akin to the Badh and Guljarbag Sub-Post Offices, is being prioritized at the central level. The Postal Department is undergoing significant changes in its approach and operations. Ranbir Kumar emphasizes the longstanding symbol of trust that post offices represent in the community, and people are gradually embracing all the services they provide.
