Postal Life Insurance was started in the year 1884. In 1888, the employees of the Telegraph Department were brought under the purview of this insurance. Earlier it was only for government employees. But from April 2023, this scheme has been opened for all graduates.
Post Office life Insurance: Postal life insurance, started during the British period, was opened to the general public last year. The claim of more bonus in low premium is very much liked by the villagers. From April 2023 to March 2024, 2836 villagers have taken postal life insurance, while 1617 people have taken insurance in urban areas.

Villagers are showing great interest in Rural Postal Life Insurance. Deepak Yadav, Development Officer of Postal Life Insurance Corporation, said that the Government of India guarantees this insurance.
