How to port to BSNL
- First of all, you have to send an SMS to 1900 and request to port your mobile number.
- For this, you have to write ‘PORT’ in the message box and enter your 10 digit mobile number after a space.
- If you are a user from Jammu and Kashmir, then you have to call 1900.
- Then you have to go to BSNL’s service center to port your mobile number, where you will be asked for Aadhaar card or other ID details, photo and biometric details.
- After this, you will be issued a new BSNL SIM. In return, you may be charged some money.
- Then you will be sent a special number, with the help of which you will be able to activate the number.
MNP rules
- The process of porting Jio and Airtel users to BSNL is the same.
- According to the new rules of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, the waiting period for shifting to the new telecom operator has become 7 days. Meaning the SIM card will have to wait for 7 days to port.
- If your balance is not outstanding, your mobile number will be activated within 15 to 30 days.
