There is a new update concerning the Delhi-Meerut RRTS. Passengers at RRTS stations will be offered special amenities, as recently announced.
Big News About RRTS: On Thursday, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) stated that in order to enhance commuting facilities, all Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) stations from Delhi to Meerut will provide rental two-wheelers, cab services, auto-rickshaws, and feeder bus services. According to NCRTC, passengers at Sahibabad and Ghaziabad stations will benefit from a 10% discount on Rapido bike taxis.
NCRTC is striving to provide rental two-wheelers and bicycles at the stations alongside the operation of the Namo Bharat train, making it more convenient for people to reach their homes. Presently, the Namo Bharat train runs on the 34-kilometer segment of the RRTS from Sahibabad to Modi Nagar North, covering eight stations. According to NCRTC, passengers traveling on the Namo Bharat train are currently receiving a 10% discount on Rapido bike taxis at Ghaziabad and Sahibabad stations. This service will soon be extended to other stations.
Namo train will soon run till Meerut
The Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor’s construction is advancing rapidly, with half of the project already completed. The Namo Bharat train is already running on the first two sections, from Sahibabad to Duhai and Duhai to Modinagar. Soon, the Namo Bharat train will also operate from Modinagar to Meerut South, a distance of 8 kilometers. This section’s construction is finished, and it has received the necessary clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety. This paves the way for the Namo Bharat train to reach Meerut. The high-speed train will cover the 42-kilometer route from Sahibabad to Meerut South in just 30 minutes.
Time will be saved
The introduction of the Namo Bharat train from Sahibabad to Meerut South will be a significant advantage for daily travelers. It will make commuting between Delhi and Meerut more convenient. The Namo Bharat train will reduce the travel time from Sahibabad to Meerut by half an hour. Once the entire RRTS corridor is operational, students and professionals commuting from Meerut to Delhi will benefit greatly. Meerut South will be the district’s first station to welcome the Namo Bharat train. Additionally, this station will feature metro train services and a 13,000-square-foot vehicle parking area.
