Free Solar Chulha: The government is running numerous programs to empower and make women independent. One prominent scheme is the Ujjwala Yojana, which supplies women with free gas cylinders.
Additionally, a subsidy is provided for refilling the cylinder each month. In line with this, the state government is now promoting the Solar Stove Scheme. Under this initiative, women will receive gas stoves powered by solar energy, eliminating the hassle of frequent cylinder refills and making cooking more convenient. The significant advantage is that once women have these solar stoves, they will no longer have to worry about refilling cylinders repeatedly.
How much will this solar stove cost
As per media reports, the Solar Stove Scheme will provide women with stoves powered by solar systems, replacing the need for gas cylinders. These stoves, which cost approximately 15,000 to 20,000 rupees in the market, will be distributed to women. The stoves will be made available to women at affordable prices.
Indian Oil Corporation has created unique stoves for women that utilize solar energy rather than gas. These stoves are rechargeable and will use solar energy for cooking. They will be provided to women at subsidized and economical rates. The company has designed three different types of stoves, allowing for a selection.
How will the solar stove work
Through the Solar Stove Program, solar panels will be affixed to the roofs of residences and linked to batteries using wires. The batteries will be charged using sunlight, enabling the solar stove to operate. The key advantage is that the stove will remain operational 24/7, even during cloudy weather or rain.
Which women will get the solar stove
According to media reports, under the scheme, women from economically disadvantaged families can avail of this solar stove. However, the condition is that the beneficiary should not already have a gas cylinder under the Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana, meaning they have not yet benefited from the Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana. Whereas those who are financially stable will have to pay the fixed price for it.

To take advantage of the solar stove scheme, you’ll need to apply for it. The necessary documents for the application include Aadhaar card, PAN card, mobile number, photograph, bank passbook, and so on.
