The Supreme Court had ordered that the students whose grace marks have been cancelled will have the option of appearing in the exam again or being satisfied with their original marks. A total of 813 students appeared for the re-examination on 23 June.
NEET UG 2024 retest result declared: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the new result of NEET (UG) 2024. Candidates can check the result on the link given on the NTA website (https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/). During the hearing of allegations of large-scale irregularities in the exam results, the NTA had told the Supreme Court on June 13, 2024 that it would cancel the grace marks given to 1,563 students in NEET (UG).
After this, the apex court had ordered that the students whose grace marks have been canceled will have the option to take the exam again or be satisfied with their original marks.
NTA said that their answers were released on June 28 and challenges were invited on them. After this, experts have prepared the final exam result which has now been released. The exam results of all the students who appeared in NEET (UG) have been released again. A total of 813 students had given the exam again on June 23. No one could score 720/720. This has reduced the toppers tally from 67 to 61.
If we look at the exam centres, there were 2 candidates at Chandigarh exam centre, but none of them appeared. Jhajjar centre, which has come under scrutiny, had 58% attendance. Here, out of 494 candidates, 287 appeared for the exam again.
A senior NTA official said that no candidate appeared for the re-examination at the Chandigarh centre. While 291 candidates from Chhattisgarh, 1 from Gujarat, 287 from Haryana and 234 from Meghalaya appeared for the examination.
Apart from the discrepancy in the results, there are also allegations of NEET (UG) 2024 paper leak. Apart from the police of various states, the CBI is also investigating it. Several arrests have been made from different states in these cases.
