But sometimes it also happens that you do not like the photo taken when you got it made, then there is no need to worry. You can change this photo on Aadhaar very easily (Aadhaar Photo Change). Let’s know about its step by step process and fees.
Your important data in Aadhaar card
Aadhaar Card has become important because it contains both biometric and demographic data of the cardholder. Through these, the identity of the person using the Aadhaar card is verified instantly. UIDAI, the organization that issues it, has given the facility to change some things in it. One of these is to update the photo. Apart from this, changes can be made from home address to phone number.
Do this work by going to the Aadhaar center
If we talk only about changing the photo, then you will not be able to do this work sitting at home, because the service of Photo Update is not available online. However, by logging on to the official website of UIDAI (uidai.gov.in) you can download the form and after filling it, you can go to the nearest Aadhaar service center and submit it.
This will reduce the time taken to fill the form at the center. You should open the website on your mobile or laptop. After this, go to the option of My Aadhaar. Here you have to go to the download section and click on Aadhaar Enrolment/Update Form.
After filling all the information asked in the form, submit it to your nearest Aadhaar enrollment center. After this, the Aadhaar executive will confirm all your information through biometric verification. Then click your new photo, which will be updated in the Aadhaar card.
This service of Aadhaar is not free
Here keep in mind that this service of updating the photo in the Aadhaar card is not free, rather for this work you will have to pay a fee of Rs 100 and GST charge will also be applicable on it. After updating the photo, the Aadhaar executive will give you a slip and a Unique Request Number (URN).
Through this, you can track the status of the latest Aadhaar from the official website. After the process is completed, you can get your Aadhaar card printed out by visiting the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra. You can also download the e-Aadhaar copy of the updated Aadhaar from the official website of UIDAI.
How to download updated e-Aadhaar
- Go to www.uidai.gov.in and click on Download Aadhaar.
- On the new page, enter Aadhaar number or, enrollment ID, or virtual ID.
- Submit the captcha code and click on Send OTP option.
- A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number.
- Enter this OTP in the designated place and click on verify and download.
- This way your e-Aadhaar with updated photo will be downloaded.
