Property taxpayers can visit the website of the Delhi Municipal Corporation at www.mcdonline.nic.in to pay the outstanding property tax. Online payment options are available.
MCD has advised landowners to geo-tag all their properties. The Property Tax Department’s offices will remain open until June 30 for people to avail of the convenience in property tax payments. During this period, they can complete this task.
The Property Tax Department of MCD has stated that over 800 camps have been organized in several wards during the current fiscal year. During these camps, more than 24,000 taxpayers have made their tax payments. Regional Property Tax Departments associated with ARDBLUE Market Association can request assistance for organizing these camps. Taxpayers can conveniently deposit their property taxes in various ways, including UPI, wallet, demand draft, and online payment gateway.
There will be a decrease in tax collection
MCD has also sent advance visa to 8.7 lakh such taxpayers who had paid tax last year. There was a decrease of 11.5 percent in property tax collection from financial year 2023 to 2024. At this time, a total property tax of Rs 20137 crore was collected. Which is Rs 280 crore less than the financial year 2022-23.
The number of taxpayers has decreased during this period. It was 13.29 lakh in 2022-23, which reduced to 12.58 lakh in 2023-24. Officials attribute this decline to the SSY scheme, which generated an extra revenue of ₹400 crore in the financial year 2022-2023 but was not implemented in 2023-2024.
